Batik Air now connects Shenzhen and Batam

Batik Air has introduced its newest route of Shenzhen-Batam, which will operate three times a week using an Airbus 320-200CEO.

atik Air, a subsidiary of low-cost carrier Lion Air, launched on Dec. 28 a direct flight from China’s Shenzhen to Batam in Riau Islands.

The inaugural Shenzhen-Batam flight carried 140 passengers on board an Airbus 320-200CEO. The airplane is fitted with 12 business class seats and 144 economy class seats, each equipped with inflight entertainment.

Batik Air’s Shenzhen-Batam route will operate three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Departing from Bao’an Shenzhen International Airport in China’s Guangdong at 1:50 a.m. local time, the flight will arrive at Hang Nadim International Airport in Batam at 4:45 a.m.

The return flights depart from Batam on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. They will take off at 7:45 p.m. and arrive at 00:40 a.m. in Shenzhen.

Shenzhen is the fourth city in China served by Batik Air, after Guilin, Kunming and Nanning. Known as the birth of Chinese tech giants, the city also offers tourism spots such as the China Folk Culture Village, Dapeng Fortress and Tien Hou Temple.

Strategically located between Singapore and the Malacca Strait, Batam is famous for its natural wonders and culinary delights.

Batik Air caters to more than 45 domestic and international destinations, with flight frequency reaching more than 350 per day. (wng)
