Emirates and Flydubai canceled Wednesday’s flights to Baghdad.

Emirates cited operational reasons, while Flydubai said flights to Basra and Najaf will go ahead, according to statements from the carriers.

Iran last night fired dozens of missiles at US-Iraqi bases, a direct attack on American forces in the region that risks further action from President Donald Trump after a U.S. strike killed top Iranian general Qassem Soleimani last week.

Air Canada, Singapore Airlines and Srilankan Airlines altered their routes to avoid Iranian airspace. Other carriers in the Middle East continue to fly over Iran and Iraq, based on data from Flightradar24.com.

Both Dubai-based airlines also have daily flights to Iran.
