Indonesian Outdoor Festival returns in March, bigger and better

Themed "Indonesia, the Greatest Outdoor", the event is aiming to attract 100,000 visitors and will be bigger than previous years as it will take up two exhibition halls.

T

he fifth installment of outdoor adventure gear exhibition Indonesia Outdoor Festival (Indofest) is slated to be held on March 12-15 at Exhibition Hall A and B in the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Central Jakarta.

Themed "Indonesia, the Greatest Outdoor", the event is aiming to attract 100,000 visitors and will be bigger than previous years as it will take up two exhibition halls.

“We hope the exhibition can support outdoor activities and other tourism potentials in Indonesia, as well as increase the number of visitors to all tourist destinations in the country,” said Disyon Toba, CEO of Consina Outdoor Services, the organizer of the event, as quoted by kompas.com on Thursday.

With an entrance fee of Rp 40,000 (US$2.80), visitors will have access to gears for outdoor activities, such as mountain hiking, running, cycling, cliff climbing, canoeing, fishing, diving, motor adventure and many more.

A number of outdoor equipment companies will join the exhibition, such as Eiger, Consina, Arei, Cozmeed, Matador, Bigadventure and The North Face.

Indofest 2020 will also hold talk shows and coaching clinics featuring world-class experts on outdoor adventures, nature activists, influencers and communities.

Representatives from various travel and tourism authorities will also be there, including from Mount Tambora National Park, Mount Ciremai National Park, Malaysia’s Serawak Tourism Board and Central Java’s Pekalongan Tourism Board.

The exhibition will run from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tickets can be purchased through the event’s official website as well as online marketplace Tokopedia. (gis)
