ndonesian life insurance company PT AIA Financial (AIA Indonesia), part of the multinational company AIA Group, has appointed Sainthan Satyamoorthy as its new president director, replacing Ben Ng, who has been assigned to a new position at AIA Malaysia.
AIA Indonesia announced the news in a press release on June 12.
This is not the first time that Satyamoorthy, who has worked for the AIA Group since 2011, has worked with AIA Indonesia. Early in his career with AIA Group, he worked for AIA Indonesia as its head of partnership distribution. In his role, he was successful in leading his team to attain significant growth in the partnership distribution area by working well with all of AIA Indonesia’s main bank partners.
He is also experienced as AIA Indonesia’s regional head of bancassurance for Southeast Asia and India.
He left Indonesia for a few years to work as AIA Malaysia’s chief corporate solutions officer.
When AIA Malaysia acquired the Malaysian chapter of Dutch insurance firm ING (ING Malaysia) in 2012, Satyamoorthy succeeded in leading the integration of the AIA Malaysia corporate solutions team members with their ING Malaysia counterparts to build the biggest insurance business in the country.
“Satyamoorthy has a successful career track record in the fields of finance, business development and distribution across Asia and Europe. I am pleased that Satyamoorthy could rejoin our Indonesian team as president director and I am confident Satyamoorthy will lead AIA Indonesia in attaining even higher growth and success in the years to come,” AIA Group regional chief executive Jacky Chan said.
“I would also like to convey my gratitude to Ben Ng, for his strong and effective leadership at AIA Indonesia and wish him great success in his new position with AIA Malaysia,” Chan continued.
After finishing his assignment in Malaysia, Satyamoorthy is happy to be back in Indonesia, this time as AIA Indonesia president director.
Satyamoorthy said he was excited to have an opportunity to continue Ng’s work in sustaining AIA Indonesia’s strong business foundations so that he could help the company continue its endeavor of offering the best financial products and services to its clients.
“I also hope we can work together as a team to attain higher business growth for AIA Indonesia,” he said.
