he contribution of APRIL Group, a leading producer of fibre, pulp and paper with plantations and manufacturing operations in Riau Province, in Sumatra, to the national economy was highlighted in a recent study by the Social and Economic Research Instituion of Indonesia University’s Economic and Business School (LPEM FEB UI).
The study reported that APRIL Group had contributed Rp 368.51 trillion to national gross domestic revenues since 1999. Of this sum, 93.68 percent - Rp 345.68 trillion - contributed to the GDP of Riau province.
