he BNI Indonesian Masters, presented by Tunas Niaga Energi (TNE), will be held from Thursday to Sunday at the Royale Jakarta Golf Club, which is hosting the tournament for the 10th time.
The BNI Indonesian Masters, presented by TNE, will be inviting elite golfers from the Asian Tour and beyond, as well as local champions, to fight for a prize of US$1.5 million.
This year, the BNI Indonesian Masters has upped its prestige with an increase in award money from US$75,000 to US$1.5 million. This is inseparable from the tournament’s status as part of a series of championships titled the International Series this season.
The BNI Indonesian Masters series began with the 2022 BNI Indonesian Masters Pro-AM, which brought together amateur golfers and professional athletes at the Jakarta Royale Golf Club in Jakarta on Tuesday.
At the opening, BNI director of corporate and international banking Silvano Rumantir expressed his pride at the company’s participation in the renowned sporting event. Moreover, the BNI Indonesian Masters has been widely awaited after the two-year hiatus caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The company is honored to be part of the BNI Indonesian Masters. Especially since now is the time to present an exciting spectacle for Indonesian golf lovers, that has multiplied since the pandemic,” he said.
Silvano added that BNI’s participation as one of the event’s main supporters was to promote BNI’s Go Global brand. Moreover, BNI’s partners, both international and local investors, were highly engaged by the sport.
Through the event, BNI promotes its international network, which currently has eight overseas outlets spread across various countries.
“We want to use this tournament to promote our extensive overseas branches and grow our brand awareness as a global financial institution,” Silvano continued.
He added that the Indonesian Masters had an audience drawing from the high ranks of the corporate and commercial sectors, which are BNI’s targets. Aside from regional television audiences, there were also expatriates and members of the Indonesian diaspora community.
“Therefore, we are unlocking tremendous opportunities for companies to connect with various clients in the global market,” he concluded.
The Indonesian Masters has been a professional golf tournament for nine consecutive years, marking it as one of the best brands in the world of national sports.
This year's BNI Indonesian Masters, presented by TNE, will be attended by Indonesian Masters champions from previous years, such as Lee Westwood (former world number one golfer and Indonesian Masters champion in 2011, 2012 and 2015), Bernd Wiesberger (2013 Indonesian Masters champion), Anirban Lahiri (2014 Indonesian Masters champion), Poom Saksansin (2016 and 2018 BNI Indonesian Masters champion) and Jazz Janewattananond (2019 BNI Indonesian Masters champion). In addition, attending this year’s tournament will be various world golfers, including the 2010 US Open major champion, Graeme McDowell and LIV Golf golfer Chase Koepka.
