he Banyuwangi regency administration continues to innovate to strengthen digital-based governance. One of these efforts is the launch of the Village Digitalization program at the Banyuwangi District Office on Friday (August 18, 2023).
According to Banyuwangi Regent Ipuk Fiestiandani, the launch was aimed at realizing improved public services and data strengthening. "We are committed to achieving real-time data-based government services. This way, the policies taken can be more targeted," she said.
Village Digitalization itself is an expansion of the Smart Village program that has long been developed in Banyuwangi. In this Smart Village application, Banyuwangi residents can access various public services.
Such as managing population administration, business permits, professional permits and registering at health centers. Residents can also obtain information related to subsidized fertilizers, PUDAM bills, and property taxes (PBB).
"People will find it easier to handle various needs. In some services, they don't even need to come to the office," added Ipuk, who acknowledged that this adaptation of digital public services was developed in Estonia.
Furthermore, Ipuk continued, a variety of digital data collected from various villages, health centers, schools and other institutions will form a centralized database. The situation room can precisely track societal developments.
"Here, we can see by name and address how many residents are in extreme poverty, stunted children, population demographics and other data. This will continue to be developed and supplemented with other data," explained Ipuk.
Ipuk hopes that in the future this data can serve as concrete reference for making policies. "In the future, there will be no more guesswork. Instead, we will know for sure what needs to be done," she emphasized.
Village Digitalization will be further developed in the future. It will not be limited to Banyuwangi district alone. It will also target the other 24 districts. "Currently, only 18 villages in the Banyuwangi district are included as a pilot project. We will gradually implement this until it can cover all areas," she explained.
The Village Digitalization service based on the Smart Village program was applauded by Faiz, a resident of Kebalanan village. He managed to obtain a permit for his internet café through the application. "It's easy. I just printed it here. There's no printer at home," he said.
According to Budi Santoso, the head of the Banyuwangi Regency Department of Communication, Informatics and Cryptography, the Smart Village application can be downloaded through Android or IOS devices. "Just download and register. We will continue to add features," he concluded.
