BPIP trains educators to instill values of Pancasila Ideology for the nation

I

ndonesia was founded on the five principles of Pancasila, and therefore the values need to be fostered in the young people that will soon be leaders to ensure the country’s continued prosperity and unity.

In order to meet the community's need for Pancasila Ideology Development Education and Training teachers (Diklat PIP), the Pancasila Ideology Development Agency (BPIP) held a Training for PIP Teachers on Tuesday (7/11) in Bandung, West Java.

The training was initiated as a solution, as Head of BPIP, Prof. Drs. K.H. Yudian Wahyudi, M.A., Ph.D. said that he often encountered a number of problems related to the lack of Pancasila education teachers in the field.

"I also conveyed this to the principal of the elementary school on the Indonesia-Malaysia border, in Entikong, West Kalimantan. The books haven't arrived yet, the teachers are not yet qualified in quantity or quality. We have to do this down to the roots, down to the 3T area, according to the direction of the President and the Chair of the Steering Committee," he said. The 3T are areas that are categorized as the most frontier, the outermost, and the ones that most left behind.

While Yudian revealed that this is not the first program, he did state that this is only the second time that the training has been done, and the teachings will be developed to reach the lowest levels. Similar to the first program, it was initiated at the ministerial level.

In efforts to implement PIP Training nationally, the Head of BPIP has issued two assessments, namely Decree of the Head of BPIP Number 65 of 2023 concerning Guidelines for Accreditation of Education and Training Organizers for the Development of Pancasila Ideology, as well as Decree of the Head of BPIP Number 67 of 2023 concerning Guidelines for Certification of Lecturers/Facilitators and Education Teachers and Pancasila Ideology Development Training.

"These two legal products are a legal umbrella for realizing quality and standardized PIP training, and are supported by lecturers/facilitators and teachers who are competent, professional, and verified by BPIP RI," he stated.

The training, which was attended by 147 BPIP officials and employees, will be held until November 8 2023. As stated by BPIP Deputy for Education and Training, Tonny Agung Arifianto, S.E., M.A.B., the aim of the program is to produce PIP Training Teachers who are competent and certified with various skills.

To be certified, the BPIP has outlined six competency standards. The first is the mastery of basic materials for the Pancasila Ideology Development that is updated and adaptive to certain needs. The second in the mastery of the material and practice of implementing the portfolio-based PIP Training learning model for state officials. It is followed by the third, which is to be prepared for an appropriate and correct syllabus and/or Learning Implementation Plan.

The fourth competency standard is regarding preparation of Adult Learning (POD), including skills in using information technology-based learning tools. The fifth is to have knowledge of the level of progress and suitability of learning outcomes with established basic competency standards to diagnose participants' strengths and weaknesses in participating in learning activities. Lastly, the sixth is the capability in carrying out PIP Training learning activities through practical teaching skills.

During the training process, participants were given a number of materials needed to be learned in order to certify. The materials include PIP Policy, Training Program Implementation Policy: Accreditation and Certification, History of the Birth and Formulation of Pancasila, Basic Thoughts of Pancasila, The Position of Pancasila in Community, National and State Life, and the Pancasila Democracy.

Moreover, they will also be given materials on Pancasila Economic System, National Development Based on Pancasila, Class Management, Preparation of Syllabus, Portfolio Based Learning Method for six PIP Basic Materials; and finally, Teaching Practices.

Tonny added, hundreds of prospective training teachers will be appointed by the Head of BPIP as Maheswara who will be the key factor for success in building a systematic, planned, integrated, standardized and sustainable National PIP Training System based on mutual cooperation from all components of the nation.

"Participants who are declared to have passed the training will be designated by the Head of BPIP RI as Maheswara Utama, Maheswara Madya, or Maheswara Pratama who can be assigned as teachers in the implementation of PIP Training nationally for state officials, social and political organizations, other components of society, as well as the Troops "Heirloom Flag (Paskibraka)," explained Tonny.

Tonny added that the Maheswara will become agents for the dissemination and internalization of Pancasila values through organizing training according to their level of competence.

"Devotion in front of our eyes awaits as Maheswara in organizing education and training and also strengthening the development of the Pancasila ideology for state officials (ASN, TNI/Polri), Social and Political Organizations, other components of society (communities and individuals) throughout our beloved country," he concluded.
