Sababay Winery again lifts global reputation of Indonesian wines

S

ababay Winery of Gianyar, Bali, has been recognized with another prestigious bronze medal for three of its superior products at the International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC) 2024, competing against thousands of entries from countries well known for their wine industries, such as Australia, Argentina, Chile, France, Italy, Spain and the United States.

This achievement marks a significant milestone for the Balinese winery and highlights the growing reputation of Indonesian wines on the global stage.

The three Sababay wines that won awards at the IWSC 2024 are:

  1. Magnolia 2022: IWSC 2024 bronze medal, 88 points
  2. Reserve White 2022: IWSC 2024 bronze medal, 88 points
  3. Reserve Red 2021: IWSC 2024 bronze medal, 88 points

Founded in 1969 by Anton Massel, the IWSC has grown to become one of the largest such competitions in the world. Featuring participants from over 90 countries, their entries were tasted and scored by 250 specialist judges from all over the world, many of who are Masters of Wine or Master Sommeliers, others winemakers or distillers, while still others are trade specialists, each judging in their specialized field.

“Each wine was carefully evaluated through blind tastings, ensuring that only the finest products were awarded. Winning bronze medals in such a competitive arena is a testament to Sababay Winery’s commitment to quality and innovation,” said Guillaume Queron, winemaker at Sababay Winery.

As Sababay Winery celebrates this achievement, it looks forward to further enhancing its reach and expanding to wider markets. The IWSC 2024 awards are a testament to Sababay Winery’s growing global reputation as a leader in the Indonesian wine industry.
