P

T Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM) is implementing the adjustment of the PNM Mekaar financing interest rate to 8 percent in an effort to ensure effective and targeted implementation by September 2026, while simultaneously providing ultra-micro entrepreneurs with access to more affordable financing backed by mentoring and empowerment.

Working alongside relevant ministries and government institutions, PNM is accelerating the various mechanisms required for a smooth transition period to ensure that the interest rate will reach the intended beneficiaries.

The Finance Ministry and PNM are intensively preparing the Program Credit Information System (SIKP), which will be connected through a host-to-host mechanism.

Meanwhile, PNM has begun preparing a Financing Cooperation Agreement with the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Ministry while also seeking liquidity support from state-owned banks coordinated by Danantara.

All of these processes are being carried out simultaneously, as the implementation of more affordable financing requires a fully prepared ecosystem. Furthermore, PNM President Director Kindaris said PNM would ensure that all preparations are carried out optimally so that the policy can provide the widest possible benefits to grassroots communities.

"Financing and empowerment must provide broader benefits for ultra-micro entrepreneurs. For us, more affordable access to financing must go hand in hand with assistance and empowerment, so that the benefits are not only felt today, but also help customers grow and become increasingly independent," Kindaris said.

The commitment is aligned with PNM's approach of integrating financing with empowerment. Through business assistance, capacity building, financial literacy and network strengthening, PNM seeks to ensure that access to financing becomes part of the process of business development and improving customer welfare.

With all implementation mechanisms being prepared simultaneously with relevant ministries, government institutions and partners, PNM is confident that the implementation of PNM Mekaar financing at an 8 percent interest rate will be able to proceed as planned in September 2026. This initiative is expected to further expand opportunities for ultra-micro entrepreneurs to grow their businesses while strengthening family economies from the grassroots level.
