View all search resultss train stations increasingly serve as hubs connecting various parts of commuters' journeys, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) and Gojek have collaborated to support the reorganization of station areas while fostering better intermodal mobility integration aiming to provide an easier and more mobile experience for daily commuters.
The collaboration sees the operation of GoRide Instant and GoCar Instant pickup points at 37 train stations across Indonesia, including new locations at Bogor Station, Gambir Station and Pasar Senen Station. The facilities allow users to complete the "first-mile" or "last-mile" segments of their journeys without long waits, while also helping to alleviate vehicle congestion around the station areas.
During the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Gojek, KA, and the Bogor city administration at Bogor Station, GoTo chief of partnership Henky Prihatna expressed his appreciation for the joint effort to create station areas that are increasingly organized, safe, comfortable and integrated.
"Gojek is playing its part by establishing GoRide and GoCar Instant pickup points at 37 stations, including Bogor Station. We hope this will make travel easier and more comfortable for the public, from home to the station, continuing the journey by train, and finally reaching their destination. At the same time, we hope this collaboration and integration will create sustainable income opportunities for Gojek driver-partners," he said.
KAI president director Bobby Rasyidin highlighted the importance of intermodal connectivity in station development, noting that Bogor city and Bogor regency have a combined population of approximately 6.9 million, with high levels of commuter mobility toward Jakarta and the surrounding areas.
“Around 130,000 people travel daily via the KRL Commuter Line from the Bogor region. Therefore, station area development needs to strengthen connectivity between rail services, onward transportation, and community activities,” he said.
With better-organized station areas and increasingly integrated intermodal connectivity, travel to and from Bogor is expected to move beyond reliance on a single mode of transport. The need for connected travel is also reflected in the collaboration between Gojek and KAI, which has been ongoing since 2022 through GoTransit, a feature allowing users to book KRL Commuter Line tickets directly linked to GoRide and GoCar services.
This integration via GoTransit offers tangible benefits to users, with a study by the Center for Transportation and Logistics Studies (Pustral) at UGM finding that 76.12 percent of online transportation users highly anticipate integrated transport services. The same study also showed that the integration increased KRL usage among Gojek users by up to 38.3 percent.
Complementing this connectivity, Gojek previously introduced the GOJEK7AN package, enabling commuters to enjoy special fares on GoRide MURAAAH and GoTransit for trips to and from stations.
Beyond mobility, collaboration between Gojek and KAI extends to various aspects of the KAI Group ecosystem, such as the use of GoPay as a digital payment solution for KAI ecosystem and the exploration of utilizing other Gojek and GoPay technologies within the Access by KAI app and various KAI Group business entities, including KAI Logistik and KAI Service.
