he government has pushed back the limited public trial run for the Greater Jakarta light rail transit (LRT) for the second time in less than two weeks.
According to Transportation Ministry spokesperson Adita Irawati, as quoted from Kompas.com, the limited trial run for the LRT will be pushed back to August 5, and the limited trial run will resume once the internal trial run proves to be successful.
State railway company Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI), which operates the LRT, suspended the limited trial run for the Greater Jakarta LRT after four days of operation, which started on July 13, because of system glitches and to improve the software.

Initially, KAI had planned to resume the limited trial for invited public officials on July 25 and for registered members of the public on July 29, after having fixed the glitch.
Throughout this period, KAI said the company consistently worked on system improvements, consulting with international experts to ensure a seamless and reliable trial experience.
State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Minister Erick Thohir refuted the belief that the delays were the result of a train system malfunction.
