The President’s top adviser and brother has said several foreign investors have expressed interest in collaborating on national strategic projects in Indonesia's hydropower, geothermal and solar sectors alongside Danantara as coinvestor.
usinessman Hashim Djojohadikusumo, a top adviser and brother to President Prabowo Subianto, says China and European countries are interested in collaborating with Danantara, the country’s newly established sovereign wealth fund.
Hashim said the government was planning for Danantara to serve as a coinvestor for foreign investors to gain their trust and interest and that several investors had expressed interest in collaborating with the fund to expand the country’s hydropower, geothermal and solar sectors.
“So, Danantara’s role as a coinvestor guarantees foreign investors that the state is also taking a risk and [...] is responsible for the success of these projects,” he said on Wednesday, as quoted by Bisnis.com, adding that the fund would also contribute to financing.
The Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry has said Danantara could finance projects proposed by the task force for downstream acceleration and national energy resilience, comprising 35 projects worth US$123.8 billion across the minerals, coal and oil and gas sectors.

Newly appointed Danantara CEO Rosan Roeslani has said the fund is open to collaborating with various stakeholders, including through joint ventures and foreign investment funds, by boosting foreign investors’ confidence and attracting them to invest in national projects with Danantara as a coinvestor to “have skin in the game”.
The fund’s chief investment officer Pandu Sjahrir said on Monday that Danantara was also open to opportunities in both the private and public markets.
