View all search resultschool holidays are officially here, bringing with them comes the perfect excuse to rediscover our own neighborhood. This season, Gojek is transforming the way Indonesians explore their cities with the launch of Jalan Jajan, a curated, hyper-local recommendation playbook embedded right inside the Gojek app while championing local business.
Available in Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, Yogyakarta and Bali, Jalan Jajan serves as the ultimate city guide for urban explorers. Instead of endlessly scrolling for ideas, users can now unlock the true character of five major cities with just a few taps.
"We’ve noticed a shifting trend in how people move during the school holidays, whether they are hunting for cultural spaces or chasing viral culinary trends, through Jalan Jajan, we want to make city exploration effortless and unforgettable” Says Marsela Renata, Head of Marketing Gojek
From the pedestrian-friendly community hubs like Blok M, Glodok Chinatown, and The Breeze, to hunting down legendary comforts like Bubur Kwang Tung and Ayam Goreng Mat Lengket, Jalan Jajan removes the guesswork of what to eat and how to get there.
This initiative comes as domestic tourism trends continue to evolve. According to data from Statistics Indonesia (BPS), a massive shift is happening in how we spend our holiday: 67.7 percent of domestic trips now occur between neighboring cities within the same province, with travelers opting for shorter getaways averaging just three nights.
Founder of the urban exploration platform SANA Kenal Kota and author of Kenal Kota: Transisi Jakarta noted that over the past years, exploring overlooked corners in their own cities became the new holiday trend.
"Hunting for hidden gems has become an attraction in itself. Memorable holidays are no longer associated with long-distance travel, but are found by discovering places with unique stories, character, and cultural significance."
The urban playbook expands beautifully beyond Jakarta, tailoring its flavor to the unique soul of each region:
Ultimately, Jalan Jajan cements Gojek’s role as far more than a ride-hailing app; it is a dynamic travel companion built to champion the local economy.
"Every trip or meal ordered positively impacts our GoFood merchants and creates earning opportunities for our driver-partners during this busy holiday season," says Marsela.
The entire journey is seamlessly connected. Travelers can bridge the gap between districts instantly using GoRide or GoCar to reach a new hidden gem, or bring the city’s viral flavors straight to their doorstep via GoFood. To make spontaneous city-venturing even sweeter, Gojek is rolling out the promo code YUKLIBUR, offering discounts of up to Rp 65,000 for GoCar and GoRide services alongside various exclusive merchant deals.
