he Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Indonesia, sponsored by the Korindo Foundation and assisted by the Korea Indonesia Forest Center (KIFC) and the Bogor administration launched the Plant Our Planet (POP) forest development campaign on Thursday (15/6).
Along with commemorating 50 years of Korean-Indonesian diplomatic relations, the POP program aims to plant a tree in the real world for every tree planted in the Metaverse Playtogether platform.
Attending the launch were the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Indonesia Lee Sang Deok, chairman of the Korindo Foundation Robert Seung, director general of the Environmental Ministry Ir. Dyah Murtiningsih, acting Bogor regent Iwan Setiawan, director general of multilateral cooperation of the Foreign Ministry Tri Tharyat and a number of representatives from related agencies.
POP was launched by symbolically planting 50 seeds at Pondok Rajeg in Bogor regency, West Java. Slated to be planted with 500 seedlings, the site is a former garbage dump that was converted into an urban forest through assistance from the Korindo Foundation's Corporate Social Responsibility program.
Following the launch, the Embassy of the Republic of Korea together with the KIFC and the Korindo Foundation will help contribute to greening Indonesia by monitoring and planting trees in the urban forest.
