atadata brought back the annual Indonesia Data and Economic Conference (IDE) event on Thursday, July 20, as the publication enters its 11th year. This year, the theme was Indonesia Rising, an indication of the country’s stable economic development in recent years despite the pandemic and global economic crisis.
The Katadata 2023 IDE brought many notable speakers to the event, which was opened by President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, represented by the Coordinating Economic Minister Airlangga Hartarto. Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati discussed Indonesia’s current economic situation as well as future economic challenges that may hinder the goal of becoming a high-income country.
Other notable speakers included presidential candidates Anies Baswedan, who discussed the continuation of infrastructure development in Indonesia after the 2024 election, and Ganjar Pranowo, who focused on the benefits of infrastructure development on the regional economy and human resources. Their opponent, Prabowo Subianto, was unable to attend because of an official trip abroad.
