redit Bureau Indonesia (CBI) has once again achieved a remarkable milestone by gaining ISO 27701 Privacy Information Management System certification. CBI is the first Indonesian private credit bureau (Lembaga Pengelola Informasi Perkreditan/LPIP) to achieve ISO 27701 certification.
ISO 27701 is an international standard that provides a framework for enhancing and developing an ISO 27001-certified information security management system into a privacy information management system (PIMS).
This certification confirms that CBI implements strict data privacy protection measures in accordance with the global standards for personal data protection. This achievement is particularly significant as Indonesia prepares to implement Law No. 27/2022 on Personal Data Protection (PDP).
“With the imminent implementation of the Personal Data Protection Law, CBI, as an organization managing credit information, needs to be at the forefront in ensuring compliance with these regulations,” said Ivan Irawan, CBI's Information Technology (IT) Director.
“The ISO 27701 certification not only prepares us to meet governance standards based on the PDP Law, but also enhances the confidence of our members and stakeholders that their data is being managed with the highest security standards,” he said.
The ISO 27701 certification complements CBI’s two other ISO certifications, namely ISO 27001 and ISO 20000-1. ISO 27001 is the international standard for information security management systems (ISMS), which use a systematic approach to managing sensitive company information, including people, processes and IT systems, by applying a rigorous risk management process.
In terms of its readiness to provide IT services, CBI has demonstrated compliance with the ISO 20000-1, a certification standard ensuring that the company meets the accepted quality standards for customer service, such as design, transition, delivery and improvements that meet service requirements and provide value to both customers and service providers.
“Through these three certifications, CBI has further strengthened its position as the leading private credit bureau, prioritizing the needs and interests of stakeholders, including data privacy,” said CBI President Director Agus Subekti.
“The ISO 27001 and ISO 20000-1 certifications have positively impacted our operations. ISO 27001 ensures better data security, while ISO 20000-1 helps us improve the quality of the IT services we provide to our members. The ISO 27701 certification makes us more prepared to face the implementation of the PDP Law while ensuring that CBI optimally protects data privacy,” he said.
Gaining ISO 27701 certification is a testament to CBI's commitment to continuously providing exemplary services and being a trusted partner in Indonesia’s credit information management industry.
Founded in 2014 among the first private credit bureaus in Indonesia, CBI is a leading private credit bureau that provides comprehensive credit information and risk management solutions.
CBI has transformed itself since its establishment, rebranding to become a leader of innovation Indonesia’s credit information management industry. CBI provides solutions to enable the growth of businesses as well as information to support Indonesian consumers’ access to credit.
