P

T Pertamina (Persero) President Director Nicke Widyawati attended the 79th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia’s independence with President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo at the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) on Aug. 17, 2024.

Nicke said that Pertamina supports the development of the IKN as the country’s new superior, advanced, world-class and environmentally friendly capital city.

"The IKN’s vision and the theme for the [Indonesian] Independence Day, namely ‘Nusantara Baru Indonesia Maju’ (A New Nusantara, a Developed Indonesia), are in line with Pertamina's vision to become an advanced, world-class company that is responsible and environmentally friendly," she stated.

Nicke added that Pertamina continues to innovate in the field of new renewable energies as promising future business opportunities. The environmentally friendly green energy business strategy is one of the efforts Pertamina focuses on to meet Indonesia’s energy needs and to support the achievement of the Indonesian government's net-zero emission target by 2060.

Nicke said that Pertamina views the success of the Indonesian Independence Day ceremony at the IKN as another step in Indonesia’s journey as a nation. Meanwhile, as a state-owned enterprise (SOE) engaged in the energy sector, Pertamina will ensure that the IKN’s energy needs are adequately met.

Pertamina Corporate Communication VP Fadjar Djoko Santoso said that Pertamina had done many things to contribute to the ceremony, starting from the provision and distribution of gasoline and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), the distribution of natural gas for the IKN’s Eternal Flame, as well as health facilities for state guests attending the ceremony.

"Pertamina’s Commercial and Trading subholding unit has formed a task force for one month, Aug. 1, 2024 to Aug.  31, 2024, to ensure the availability of gasoline and LPG in the country’s capital " he added.

Pertamina has also built a natural gas pipeline and installation in the IKN’s Memorial Park. The natural gas pipeline in the Nusantara Veranda, which is integrated into the park, uses two c-cyl cylinders with a capacity of 24 cubic meters to make the Eternal Flame burn nonstop. The use of natural gas at the Kusuma Bangsa Park monument is expected to support Pertamina's steps in making gas a cleaner and more environmentally friendly transitional energy.

To ensure a stable and reliable energy supply in the IKN, Fadjar also said that Pertamina’s gas subholding unit combines the pipeline and related infrastructure which has been built at the Nusantara Central Government District (KIPP) and optimizes the pipeline by using compressed natural gas (CNG) transported via Gaslink Cylinder.

As of now, the progress for the shelter that has been installed has reached 77 percent of the total 34 Gaslink Cylinder units which are projected to distribute 4,583 cbm of natural gas per month in August 2024.

"Gaslink Cylinders have been installed in several strategic locations in the IKN, such as at the Ministers’ Official Residence, the State Palace, the Garuda Palace, the Presidential Secretariat office and various other government facilities," Fadjar said.

He also noted that Pertamina subsidiary Pertamina Bina Medika IHC is also preparing its best medical team to support the 79th Indonesian Independence Day ceremony at the IKN. Pertamina has prepared one ambulance unit along with two general practitioners, three nurses and one ambulance driver from the Pertamina Balikpapan Hospital in East Kalimantan. A medical team equipped with adequate facilities and equipment has been at the IKN since Aug. 14-18, 2024.

"The medical team will be on standby in the State Palace’s VIP room, which is equipped with a mini intensive care unit that is specially prepared to serve the medical needs of VIP guests," Fadjar concluded.
