Sundara at Four Seasons Bali, Jimbaran Bay, wins 2024 ‘Wine Spectator’ excellence award

S

undara beachfront restaurant at Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay has been honored with an Award of Excellence from Wine Spectator’s 2024 Restaurant Awards, catching the judges’ attention with its extensive wine list.

The award noted that winning restaurants’ wine lists feature “a well-chosen assortment of quality producers, along with a thematic match to the menu in both price and style”.

With a wine list spanning 250 labels and an on-site cellar, Sundara’s selections journey through renowned global wine-producing regions. In addition, the restaurant presents Balinese wines such as Isola Rosso Raw, a blend of Syrah and Malvasia Nera grapes grown on the northern Buleleng coast, for pairing with its nightly dinner menu inspired by the traditional seafood barbecue culture of Jimbaran.

The award from Wine Spectator closely followed Sundara’s restyled design, echoing the endless ocean horizon through its linear playfulness. This includes a 57-meter beachfront pool as well as complimentary nonmotorized water sports experiences, bookable in advance at the resort’s Coconut Grove beach retreat.

Also new at Sundara is its Sunday Brunch themed “Love at the Beach”, a meeting of haute cuisine and Jimbaran’s barbeque gastronomy, courtesy of Chef de Cuisine David Gavin. Expect barbecued octopus, grilled prawns and Wagyu flank steak, alongside highlights such as seafood platters and coconut crab salad for a cool summer.
