ertamina made another international appearance to introduce its commitment to sustainability and the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) partners it fosters to the global market through the WOW Indonesia! Festival 2024 in the United States capital on Sunday, Aug. 25, 2024.
Held to celebrate 75 years of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and the US, the WOW Indonesia! Festival 2024 took place on Pennsylvania Avenue Northwest between 3rd and 7th Street Northwest in Washington, DC.
Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi opened the event, which featured Indonesia’s diverse culture through a variety of activities and programs, including government and nonprofit initiatives.
State-owned oil and gas holding company Pertamina took part in this one-day extravaganza by showcasing its many sustainability programs, such as the Independent Energy Village and Net-Zero Emission initiatives. It also promoted the products of its MSME partners, including fashion brand Bali Cap, Persona Handicraft, Sripala Accessories, Git Bay Pearl Jewelry and beauty products from Bali Ayu.
Minister Retno expressed her appreciation for Pertamina's participation in the WOW Indonesia! Festival 2024, as well as for its programs supporting the independence of Indonesian MSMEs.
"Hopefully in the future, Pertamina will bring more MSMEs to exhibit at international events like this," the minister said during her visit to the Pertamina booth at the festival.
Since 1993, Pertamina has been supporting MSMEs through various funding and mentoring programs.
"The WOW Indonesia! Festival 2024 is an excellent platform for our fostered MSMEs to gain access to the export market to the United States," said Fadjar Djoko Santoso, vice president corporate communication at Pertamina.
As part of a series of activities commemorating the 75th anniversary of Indonesia-US diplomacy, Pertamina also participated in a business forum on Aug. 26, 2024, in Washington DC.
At the forum, John Anis, Pertamina CEO of new renewable energy, presented the company’s achievements and aspirations in the green energy sector.
"The purpose of participating in this business forum is to foster and hold meetings with business partners to explore cooperation opportunities," Fadjar said.
