More than 25 countries to participate in SIAL Interfood 2024

ore than 25 countries are expected to take part in the 25th edition of The Global Food Marketplace, better known as Salon International de l’Alimentation (SIAL) at the Jakarta International Expo Kemayoran, Jakarta, from Nov. 13 to 16 amid significant growth in the food and beverage industry in Indonesia.

The food and beverage (F&B) industry recorded 10.17 percent growth in the second quarter of 2024 according to Statistics Indonesia (BPS), and this positive trend has sparked enthusiasm from participants.

SIAL Interfood 2024, dubbed one of the largest F&B exhibitions in Southeast Asia, will see participants from diverse countries, including Thailand, Iran, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Egypt, Korea, Turkey, Belarus, Taipei, Russia, Japan, Taiwan, China, the United States, Georgia, Oman, Dubai (UAE), Italy, India, Switzerland and Germany.

SIAL Interfood 2024 will present innovations in foods, beverages, culinary presentation services, hotels, restaurants, cafes and bakeries.

More than 1,200 participants, including 150 players of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) from diverse regions will showcase their excellent products.

The four-day SIAL Interfood 2024 exhibition, targeted to attract 90,000 visitors, is expected to serve as an ideal platform for industry players and consumers to expand their networking, gain diverse knowledge and explore new trends. The exhibition is expected to nurture strong collaboration among industrial players, enhance local products’ competitive edge and bolster national food resilience.

SIAL Interfood 2024 will be held alongside Seafood Show Asia Expo 2024, All Indonesia CoolTech Expo 2024 and INAShop Expo 2024, offering rich and diverse experiences for visitors through a wide range of products and services.

As one of  the largest F&B industry exhibitions in Indonesia, SIAL Interfood 2024 will not only serve as a platform to introduce new innovations and superior products, but also as a strategic platform aimed at strengthening national food resilience. A range of stakeholders, from producers to distributors, will gather at the upcoming event to exchange knowledge and technology that can support efficiency in the process of food production and distribution.

Krista Exhibitions will provide access to business matching between local and international business players, while serving as a source of inspiration for young entrepreneurs in F&B businesses.

“This year’s exhibition is enriched by collaborations across ministries, organizations and associations, presenting a deeper experience for visitors,” said Krista Exhibitions CEO Daud D. Salim.

He went on to say that experts, chefs and culinary practitioners both local and international will share insights, open opportunities and encourage the progress of the Indonesian F&B industry.

SIAL Interfood 2024 will also present SIAL Innovations, extending an appreciation for the best innovations in the F&B sector and supporting industries. The event rewards product creativity and quality by providing the winners with international exposure across the entire SIAL network.

SIAL Interfood 2024 will also feature other appealing programs, including a roasting competition by SIROC and a gelato workshop by Italy’s Espresso.

The upcoming event will also feature an ICAB seminar themed “Mixology and Manual Brew, Open Service”, as well as a cooking competition, “La Cuisine”, which anticipates 1,000 participants, including international professional chefs presenting their culinary innovations.

Various talk shows will also be held during the upcoming exhibition. These will include a show themed “Tea for ALL Generations” by the Indonesian Tea Association (ATI), and another themed “Seize Market Opportunities”, by ASTRULI, who will also hold a forum group discussion themed “Policy Support and Facilitation of the Downstreaming of Indonesian Seaweed”.

APRINDO will hold a conference discussing food resilience in Indonesia themed “Economic Growth Through Modern Retail”, while ARPI’s discussion will be on the theme “The Modern Cold Chain Warehouse”.
