T

he National Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) of Indonesia has distributed thousands of processed meat packages from Dam sacrifices made by Indonesian haj pilgrims to Indonesian residents in four regions of Saudi Arabia: Riyadh, Buraydah, Dammam and Mecca.

Chairman of BAZNAS RI, Noor Achmad, stated that a total of 6,298 processed meat packages were distributed to 4,348 beneficiaries among Indonesian residents in Saudi Arabia.

“Alhamdulillah, BAZNAS RI has once again been entrusted to distribute Dam sacrifices from haj pilgrims. This is a significant mandate to manage the Dam sacrifices professionally, ensuring direct impact on those in need,” Noor said in a written statement on Monday.

Noor explained that this distribution reflects the trustworthy, professional and targeted management of Dam sacrifices. The assistance prioritizes Indonesian residents in Saudi Arabia who require support.

“The 6,298 packages of processed meat from Indonesian haj pilgrims consist of 2,599 packages weighing 500 grams, 712 packages weighing 2 kilograms and 2,987 packages weighing 2.5 kg,” Noor detailed.

According to Noor, the program demonstrates social care that transcends geographical boundaries. Each processed meat package received by the beneficiaries symbolizes solidarity from Indonesian haj pilgrims.

“We extend our deepest gratitude to the Religious Affairs Ministry, BPKH [Haj Fund Management Agency], the haj pilgrims who fulfilled their Dam obligations and everyone involved in the success of this program. May this act of kindness bring blessings to all parties, both givers and receivers,” Noor said.

Noor expressed hope that this program will continue to grow, allowing more people to benefit from it. “We hope to distribute not just around six thousand Dam sacrifices like today, but tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands, matching the number of Indonesian haj pilgrims,” he added.

This marks the second distribution by BAZNAS RI in 2024. Previously, on June 20, BAZNAS RI distributed 10,000 packages of Dam meat to Indonesian schools in Mecca, with each package weighing 2.5 kg.
