Violent Indonesian passenger on Turkish Airlines intoxicated: Police

Spokesperson for the Jakarta Police Sr. Comr. Endra Zulpan said that the passenger, identified by his initial MJJB, assaulted the flight attendant when he was reminded of his disorderly conduct.

olice said on Wednesday that an Indonesian passenger aboard a Jakarta-bound Turkish Airlines TK 56 flight accused of assaulting a flight attendant was intoxicated during the flight.

Spokesperson for the Jakarta Police Sr. Comr. Endra Zulpan said that the passenger, identified by his initials MJJB, assaulted the flight attendant when he was reminded of his disorderly conduct.

"The passenger is an Indonesian citizen and he was drunk when making the assault," Endra said as quoted by Kompas.com.

Local media reports said that due to the passenger's disorderly conduct, the flight crew had to deplane him at Kuala Namu International Airport in Medan, North Sumatra, causing the flight to arrive late in Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

It was also reported that the passenger's disorderly behavior had enraged others on the flight, some of whom also engaged in an altercation with the individual.

Endra said that MJJB was currently being given medical treatment at a health facility in Kuala Namu Airport.
