Prabowo praises Jokowi’s son in-law’s leadership during Medan visit

wo days after meeting with President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo's son and Surakarta Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka, Gerindra Party chair Prabowo Subianto visited Medan on Thursday to see the city's mayor, Bobby Nasution, who is the President’s son-in-law.

At the meeting, Prabowo praised Bobby's leadership of the city, crediting him with improving the quality of life in the North Sumatran capital.

"I keep monitoring what happens in this city and I have to say it's pretty good," Prabowo said, as quoted by Antara.

The senior politician added that Bobby was well equipped to run for a higher office, should he decide to pursue it.

"I think that leadership is in the blood of Pak Bobby," Prabowo said.

Prabowo's meeting with Bobby took place only two days after his visit to Surakarta, where the defense minister spoke with Gibran.

Gibran said the two had discussed his plans to run for governor of Central Java in 2024.

Gibran added that he had received advice from the senior politician, who competed against his father in 2014 and 2019.
