Member of the PSI central board Isyana Bagoes Oka said on Tuesday that in his tour to Banten's five regencies and municipalities, Kaesang would also urge voters to deliver an electoral win for the upstart political party.
Chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) Kaesang Pangarep, the youngest son of President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo, has embarked on a two-day tour of Banten province, canvassing for his older brother Gibran Rakabuming Raka who is running as vice presidential candidate alongside Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto in February’s election.
Member of the PSI central board Isyana Bagoes Oka said on Tuesday that in his tour of Banten's five regencies and municipalities, Kaesang would also urge voters to deliver an electoral win for the upstart political party.
"The big meeting will be held on Wednesday in Serang. The meeting will be to ensure that all the political machinery will work to support the party and ensure victory for the Prabowo-Gibran ticket," Isyana said, as quoted by Antara.
On his trip to Banten, Kaesang is scheduled to visit Tangerang regency, Tangerang municipality, South Tangerang municipality, Serang municipality and Serang regency.
During the tour, Kaesang is also scheduled to hold a coordination meeting with a group of Prabowo-Gibran volunteers as well as planning to meet with fishermen, farmers and start-up employees in the region.
During one of his meetings in Tangerang, Kaesang floated the idea of his older brother joining the PSI.
"Once he is elected [as vice president] he might be willing to join the PSI. All of you can persuade him to join. You can cajole him a bit, who knows?" Kaesang was quoted by Antara as saying.
Kaesang also joked that people mistook him a lot for his older brother.
"I have to wear a T-shirt saying that 'I am Kaesang, not Gibran’," Kaesang said.
