Ex-commander of the now-dissolved separatist Free Aceh Movement (GAM) and former Aceh deputy governor, Muzakir Manaf, continues to receive support for his bid to run in Aceh's gubernatorial race.
Gerindra Party, the National Mandate Party (PAN) and the Islamic Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) have joined Muzakir's own Aceh Party to support his ticket in November's regional elections.
“We are grateful for Gerindra’s support for Muzakin Manas, especially for president-elect Prabowo Subianto's attention to Muzakir,” Aceh Party's spokesperson Nurzahri said on Monday.
Nurzahri previously said that both PAN and the PKS had officially backed Muzakir.
