ineteen Rohingya refugees left their temporary shelter in Seunebok Rawang village, East Aceh regency, Aceh, on Friday, local authorities have said.
They were part of a group 91 refugees who arrived on the regency’s coast last week.
Syamsul Bahri, an East Aceh regency official, said on Monday that 12 of the people who fled were women and the other seven were men. He added that authorities were still searching for the group.
The official said the temporary shelter accommodated 28 other Rohingya refugees who previously landed in Kuala Parek, also in the regency.
“The Rohingya immigrants in the shelter are taken care of and handled directly by UNHCR,” Syamsul said, as quoted by Antara.
Six people died when the Rohingya refugees landed on the shore of Meunasah Hasan village on Thursday.
