aman Safari Indonesia announced on Tuesday the birth of two Humboldt penguins, a gibbon and two Bengal tiger cubs across its parks. These animals have been declared endangered due to their declining populations in the wild.

The two Humboldt penguin nestlings were born at the Jakarta Aquarium & Safari (JAQS). With the newborns, JAQS now houses eight Humboldt penguins.

"The male nestlings have been named Flip and Flop through a competition involving hundreds of participants on Instagram," Taman Safari Indonesia group marketing senior vice president Alexander Zulkarnain said in a written statement on Tuesday, as quoted by tempo.co.

At Solo Safari in Surakarta, Central Java, an agile gibbon infant named Ron was born to the Galih and Shinta pair about three months ago.

Ron is the latest addition to Solo Safari's growing population of agile gibbons, bringing the total to six.

Alexander said that Ron was healthy and ready to meet visitors at the zoo.

Alexander said that Taman Safari Indonesia remains dedicated to preserving rare species. Through engagement with conservation programs, visitors are also encouraged to raise awareness about the importance of animal protection.

Taman Safari Indonesia operates six locations and four resorts across Indonesia, housing 9,325 animals from 409 species.

The family-oriented recreation spots started with the Great Taman Safari Cisarua, Bogor regency, West Java, which opened in April 1986.
