Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi said that the initiative is crucial to reduce rainfall intensity while authorities continue ongoing flood mitigation efforts.

We have requested the National Disaster Mitigation Agency [BNPB] to conduct weather modification to prevent further rainfall in both regions,” Luthfi said on Monday.
