Local indie artists are being encouraged to unite at Creators Super Fest, an event that aims to exhibit works from independent artists and connect them with the market. Taking place at the Grand Ballroom of Pullman Hotel Central Park, West Jakarta, Creators Super Fest will run from April 29 to 30.

The event features various activities including workshops, competitions, merchandise-selling and concerts. Creators will have the opportunity to meet professional Japanese artist John Hathway and Thai artist Okita Kung.

Meanwhile, those who are just starting out in the cosplay world are invited to join workshops with celebrity cosplayers from China, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Indonesia. Famous cosplayers Hana and Baozi, Ying Tze, MG and those from Re:ON will attend the event as well as making appearances at meet-and-greet sessions.

Furthermore, creators can participate in the Art Duel where they will have the chance to demonstrate their skills on both days of the event. Solo cosplayers can take part in the Cosplay Competition on April 30 and impress the judges with their costumes.

“Every year we are astounded by the overwhelming response the local community has given us. We feel that a dedicated event for creators would be able to continue encouraging such positive creativity,” said the managing director of event organizer SOZO, Shawn Chin, in a press release. “We hope that local creators can continue to grow and strengthen their craft.”

Creators Super Fest originated from the Creators Hub that promotes local artists and encourages them to create their own works of art. The Creators Hub is also one of the most popular sections at the Japanese pop culture event Anime Festival Asia (AFA), which is also organized by SOZO. (asw)
