T

Paviliun 28 is not just a cafe. Dubbing itself an art space, it also serves as a mini-cinema, creative corner, public discussion place and a coffee shop.

Aside from folk and acoustic music performances, they have a Jazz night every Thursday starting from 8 p.m. Located on Jl. Petogogan 1 No. 25 in the Gandaria area, this is the place to go for South Jakarta’s indieheads.

See the schedule for upcoming music performances and movie screenings on Instagram and Twitter @Paviliun_28 or Facebook paviliun28.

Jaya Pub

As one of the oldest bars in the city, Jaya Pub has quite a reputation among both locals and expatriates for its European, rustic ambience. Once a gathering place for anti-government people, the Sarinah-based pub has held a monthly Superbad festival since 2008, initiated by the owner Frans Tumbuan's daughter Keke and Indra Ameng. The gig showcases indie musicians, local and foreign.

Borneo Beerhouse

Another favorite among Jakarta indieheads is Borneo Beerhouse, located at Belle Point, Jl. Kemang Selatan VIII No 5, South Jakarta. Solid beer selections, great bar food, and a dimly lit room make this place perfect for late-night hangouts, especially for those who beat to rock and roll.

The schedule for upcoming performances can be found on Instagram and Twitter @borneobeerhouse.
