here’s good news for avid WhatsApp users who own Android phones. The messaging app has recently added a “Picture-in-Picture” mode for its video chat feature in Android 8.0.
Android Police reports that the mode is currently available on Android O Developer Preview for the app's 2.17.265 beta version.
The Picture-in-Picture mode is said to compress video into a floating window that can be moved around, allowing users to continue texting or doing other things while engaging in a video conversation.

Meanwhile, in WhatsApp for Android Nougat, the video freezes, although the audio remains, when a user moves back to the chat list.
Those who want to try the Picture-in-Picture mode for video need to download the WhatsApp beta program on the Play Store or manually get the latest APK from APK Mirror. (jes/kes)
