The 15th installment of the Jakarta Fashion & Food Festival (JFFF) officially kicked off on Saturday at La Piazza, Summarecon Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta.

The opening of the festival was attended by Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan, Anies’ wife Fery Farhati, Jakarta Deputy Governor Sandiaga Uno’s wife Nur Asia Uno, Creative Economy Agency (BEK) deputy of marketing Joshua Simanjuntak and Tourism Ministry expert staff member Esthy Reko Astuti.

Summarecon Agung president director Adrianto P. Adhi said that JFFF 2018 supported the development of small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

In addition to featuring SMEs, Adrianto said that business owners would be given the opportunity to learn about branding and marketing from experts.

Meanwhile, Anies expressed appreciation for the festival, saying that this type of event provided a medium for fashion and food entrepreneurs to showcase their work as well as a benchmark for the development of their products. Furthermore, Anies added that the festival could help promote local businesses to global audiences.

“If you want to see Indonesian food and fashion come to JFFF,” said Anies.

JFFF 2018 is slated to run until May 6. During the event, food enthusiasts can enjoy a plethora of local dishes at Kampoeng Tempo Doeloe (KTD).

Meanwhile, from April 11-29, JFFF 2018 will host fashion shows featuring local designers, such as Marga Alam, Eddy Betty, Jenahara, Patrick Owen and Hengky Kawilarang. (mut)
