Buffalo Boys will be premiered at the Fantasia International Film Festival in Montreal, Canada, prior to its release in Indonesia.

“The world premiere will be at the Fantasia International Film Festival on July 14,” Indonesian actress Pevita Pearce, who plays Kiona in the film, told kompas.com.
The festival, slated to run from July 12 to Aug. 1, announced the premiere on its official Twitter and Instagram accounts.

Pevita said that prior to its release in Indonesia in mid-July, Buffalo Boys would also be screened at the annual New York Film Festival.
“I cannot wait [for the premiere] because the film is great and the crew is amazing,” she added.
Buffalo Boys follows two princes who have been exiled to the Wild West. They return years later to Java to avenge their father’s death. The film uniquely combines Indonesian history and Western film.
The film stars Ario Bayu as Jamar, Yoshi Sudarso (Suwo), Tio Pakusadewo (Arana), Mikha Tambayong (Sri), Happy Salma (Seruni), Donny Damara (Sakar) and Hannah Al-Rashid (Adrie). (wir/kes)
