Ahok, who now prefers to be called “BTP”, became the subject of two videos uploaded on Friday to OSO TV, a YouTube channel run by Hanura Party leader Oesman Sapta Odang (OSO).   

The videos show BTP and OSO having a casual discussion that is frequently punctuated by laughter. In the one titled “Exclusive! Ahok Asks OSO for Wedding Blessing”, BTP confirms his plans to marry Second Brig. Puput Nastiti Devi, a police officer.  

BTP also shares a piece of advice he received from a friend, who said his ideal wife should have identical palm lines as BTP’s, so that their luck will also match. Skeptic at first, BTP says he was curious enough to ask to see Puput’s palm.

“[Our lines] were identical,” he says, looking astonished.

In the video, Puput and BTP can be seen spreading out their palms to show the lines.

“They really are a match,” OSO says.

“I don’t know how to explain it,” BTP adds. “Even a friend said that our faces were alike.”

In another video titled “Exclusive! OSO Gifts Ahok a Jeweled Ring”, Puput tells OSO that she calls BTP yeobo (honey).

BTP then chimes in, jokingly saying “Yeobo is Korean for honey. She is a ‘victim’ of Korean drama series”, which triggers laughter among the three.

 Puput can be seen lightly pinching BTP on the arm after his remark.

“I am a fan of Korean [series]. Yeobo is what wives call their husbands […] We chose something different, rather than the ordinary ‘dear’ or ‘love’, so it’s yeobo,” Puput adds.

BTP also says he calls Puput buin.

“Buin means wife,” he explains.

BTP was supposed to give his first media interview on Saturday evening on Metro TV, but the show was canceled. According to tempo.co, Metro TV public relations officer Henny Puspitasari said BTP’s team had requested to postpone the show because of his tight schedule. 

Shortly after his release on Thursday, BTP released a video on his YouTube channel titled “Coming Home”. The video depicts his first few hours as a free man along with his eldest son Nicholas “Nicho” Sean. (wng)
