O

ur love for the original Frozen may be an open door, but the immense hype surrounding the movie and the incredibly popular and over-played song "Let It Go", tempered our enthusiasm for it somewhat.

However, the teaser trailer for Frozen 2 has just been released, and for the first time in forever, we’re actually looking forward to the much-anticipated sequel to the 2013 Disney smash hit.

It starts off with a somewhat grim and dark sequence of Elsa trying to run over a raging ocean, as if trying to escape from somewhere. It’s a sequence that sets the tone for the rest of the trailer, as we see our heroes – Elsa (Idina Menzel), Anna (Kristen Bell), Kristoff (Jonathan Groff), Olaf (Josh Gad) and Sven the reindeer – seemingly going on a journey and coming up against some pretty tough looking challenges. There’s even one in which Elsa has to use her ice powers to protect herself and Olaf from a ring of fire.

This first look of the movie is quite serious, and very different compared to the breezy, comedic animated shorts which last featured the Frozen friends. Needless to say, the epic tone of the trailer has really piqued our curiosity, and made us even more anxious to see just what Elsa, Anna and the gang have to face this time around. Looks like we really aren’t ready to let it go just yet.

Frozen 2 is scheduled for released on Nov. 22.
