According to tempo.co, the film is being screened at 791 theaters across Indonesia, which is also a new record for local films.

Starring Iqbaal Ramadhan and Vanesha Prescilla, the movie is a sequel to Dilan 1990. The film was adapted from Pidi Baiq’s novel, Dilan Bagian Kedua: Dia adalah Dilanku tahun 1991 (Dilan Part Two: He’s My Dilan in 1991), the second book in the series.
The film follows high school student Milea, who moves from Bandung to Jakarta and finds love with schoolmate Dilan. The first film, Dilan 1990, attracted over 6 million moviegoers, making it the country’s most popular film in 2018. (jes)
