hina-based video-sharing app TikTok is the most popular iOS app of this year’s first quarter, according to a recent report by app analytics firm Sensor Tower.
The report shows that TikTok has been downloaded 33 million times from Apple’s App Store from January to March.
TikTok tops Sensor Tower’s list of the five most popular iOS apps in the first quarter of this year, followed by YouTube in second place.
Facebook-owned social media platforms Instagram, WhatsApp and Messenger are also among the top five most popular apps on Apple’s mobile operating system.

Meanwhile, the report also shows that WhatsApp reigns as the most popular app on Android.
The instant messaging service has been downloaded 199 million times from the Google Play store in the first quarter of this year.
Messenger, TikTok, Facebook and Instagram are also among the most popular Android apps.
Although TikTok does not rank as the most popular app on Android, it has managed to draw 88.6 million sign-ups on the operating system in this year’s first quarter – 8.2 times more than last year’s figure, according to the report. (rfa/wng)
