group of Indonesian students from the Bandung Institute of Technology’s (ITB) School of Electrical and Information Engineering has emerged victorious as Global Winners of this year’s L'oreal Brandstorm Challenge in Paris.
Dubbed Team Phoenix, the group consists of Albert Sahala Theodore, Johan Poernomo and Rifda Annelies Az Zahra.
Together, they created a product called EzBand, which can be integrated with mobile phones for early detection of eczema symptoms in children.
Eczema or dermatitis is a skin disease that causes irritation and swelling. Children are especially prone to eczema.

Team leader Albert said the group would be rewarded with an internship opportunity at renowned start-up incubator Station F in Paris, as reported by Antara.
L’oreal Brandstorm Challenge is an international competition held by French cosmetics giant L’oreal in collaboration with Active Cosmetics Division as an effort to pool ideas for health-conscious skincare products. (rfa/kes)
