L'Oréal Paris is launching a makeup series in collaboration with the house of Karl Lagerfeld.

The cosmetics giant had embarked upon a beauty collaboration with the iconic fashion designer before he passed away on February 19, WWDreports. The collection is set to launch this fall, going on sale online on September 20 before launching globally on September 27.

"All of our fashion designer collaborations are an honor, but this one is particularly meaningful," Délphine Viguier-Hovasse, global brand president of L'Oréal Paris, told WWD. "While Karl upturned the hierarchy of the landscape to democratize fashion, L'Oréal Paris is committed to making beauty according to women's own rules and desires."

"This line of makeup truly reflects the Karl Lagerfeld brand universe and what Karl loved in makeup," added Caroline Lebar, head of image and communication at Karl Lagerfeld.

Details of the collection are being kept under wraps for now, but it will reportedly nod to Lagerfeld's signature rock-chic aesthetic, and its campaign will feature some of Lagerfeld's well-known sayings.

German creative Lagerfeld was no stranger to collaborations, having partnered through his eponymous brand with names such as the influencer Olivia Palermo, the supermodel Kaia Gerber and the sportswear giant Puma, to name just a few. L'Oréal Paris, meanwhile, has previously teamed up with the fashion designers Isabel Marant and Sabyasachi Mukherjee, as well as the house of Balmain.
