he hottest show on HBO is finally back after a little over two years, with the star-studded cast of Big Little Lies now facing the consequences of their actions from the inaugural season.
The American cable TV network has again struck gold with Its latest hit series, now three episodes into the second season, after raking in 16 Emmy nominations and eight wins for its first season, including Nicole Kidman’s leading actress award.
The series, based on Liane Moriarty's novel of the same name, centers on a circle of emotionally troubled women living in Monterey, California: Renata Klein (Laura Dern), Madeline Mackenzie (Reese Witherspoon), Celeste Wright (Nicole Kidman) and Jane Chapman (Shailene Woodley).
Season One Wrap Up
Renata and Madeline are two extremely wealthy mothers who are influential at the upper-class school their children attend. Celeste and Jane also have children at the school, and each family's dynamics are messy.
Jane was introduced in season one as a newcomer who is welcomed into the circle by Celeste and Madeline. Jane has a son, Ziggy, who was conceived during a rape that occurred outside Monterey and who has no idea who his father is.
