The ambassador has caught the attention of Instagram users with his regular posts of the local dishes he eats for lunch.
henever Ishii Masafumi, the ambassador of Japan to Indonesia, is free during lunchtime, he always opts to eat Indonesian food.
“I’m always asking [my staff] to pick up what I’ve never had before. So she already has a long list, which shows that I think Indonesia still has more varieties of [food] to show me,” Masafumi told The Jakarta Post during an interview at his office in Central Jakarta.
The ambassador has caught the attention of Instagram users with his regular posts of the local dishes he eats for lunch.
Masafumi began his tenure in Indonesia in 2017 and his Instagram account @jpnambsindonesia began posting his lunches on Instagram on Oct. 18, 2018 with several hashtags, including #makansiangdubesjepang (Japanese ambassador’s lunch).
