Super Junior's Choi Siwon was recently named Mie Sedaap's brand ambassador (Mie Sedaap/File)
Mie Sedaap, the instant noodle brand of Wing’s Food, named Super Junior’s Choi Siwon its new brand ambassador in late August. A video posted to Mie Sedaap’s Instagram account on Wednesday, Aug. 28, showed Siwon walking with flames blazing in the background, while the post’s caption hinted at a new instant noodle variant named Korean Spicy Chicken.
Another post followed on Friday, Aug. 30, showing Siwon eating the new-flavor instant noodles, thus confirming the speculation that the Korean heartthrob is Mie Sedaap’s new ambassador.
Mita Ardiani, senior brand manager of Mie Sedaap, said in a statement that the company considered Siwon an inspirational figure loved by the brand’s market in Indonesia.
“Siwon has built a positive image of himself that we hope will have a positive influence on Indonesian youth,” said Mita, adding that Siwon’s work ethics in the entertainment field was parallel to how Wings Food strived to maintain the quality of its products.
Moreover, Indonesia is no stranger to Siwon, who performed at the closing ceremony of the 2018 Asian Games and met President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo in Seoul.
“I have a chance to continue a good relationship with Indonesia through Mie Sedaap,” Siwon was quoted as saying. (ran/mut)
