“It’s an honor to be mentioned among these incredible, strong women,” Lala, who cofounded production house Lifelike Pictures in 2008, shared the news on her Twitter account on Thursday.

The report cited Lala as “a leading film producer in Southeast Asia” and mentioned some of Lifelike Pictures' projects, such as Pintu Terlarang (The Forbidden Door) (2009), Modus Anomali (2012), Tabula Rasa (2014) and Wiro Sableng: Pendekar Kapak Maut Naga Geni 212 (212 Warrior) (2018).

Lala was the only representative from Indonesia on the list, which also recognized other influential female figures, including British director-writer Sally Potter; Chinese-American directors Nanfu Wang and Jialing Zhang; and Mexican-French actor-producer Salma Hayek.
International Women’s Impact Report is Variety’s annual piece that honors tens of remarkable women worldwide, especially in the entertainment industry, as part of the commemoration of International Women’s Day that falls on March 8. (wir/kes)
