[UPDATED] Indonesian hotels offer food delivery service amid COVID-19 spread

A number of hotels in Indonesia are currently providing a food delivery service for those who miss the taste of their favorite dishes in the hotel restaurants.

mid the alarming spread of COVID-19 across the country, a number of hotels in Indonesia are currently providing a food delivery service for those who miss the taste of their favorite dishes at the hotel restaurants.

Below is a list of some of the hotels that are offering such a service:

Hotel Mulia Senayan

Customers now have the option to order food from the hotel's many restaurants, namely The Café, Edogin, Table8, Orient8, bleu8 and il Mare.

The service offers an extensive range of foods, from Indonesian, Indian and Thai, to Japanese, Italian and Chinese with a minimum order of Rp 1 million (US$61.14).

Patrons can choose to have the food delivered to their doorstep or collect them at the hotel’s car call station.

The Westin Jakarta

Located in the southern part of the capital city, The Westin Jakarta is currently providing a delivery service for its signature Eat Well menu, which boasts a wide array of appetizers, main courses and desserts.

The service is available for a minimum order of 10 pax.

The Dharmawangsa Jakarta

This hotel offers not just one but three types of delivery services, namely Rantangan To-Go, Cocktail To-Go and Jamu To-Go. Those ordering Rantangan To-Go can expect to enjoy Asian and Western dishes, meanwhile the latter two offer cocktails and jamu (traditional herbal drinks), respectively.

The service is available from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Delivery charges apply.

The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Pacific Place

The hotel is currently providing an outside catering service for various international and Indonesian menus from its all-dining restaurant PASOLA. Customers can easily choose to have snacks, main courses and desserts delivered to their office or house.

Holiday Inn & Suites Jakarta Gajah Mada

This West Jakarta property has also joined in the food delivery business by introducing Food to Go, which offers Asian and Western menus from its Duta Café and Restaurant  with the prices ranging from Rp 25,000 to Rp 388,000.

Free delivery applies for destinations within 5 kilometers of the hotel.

The Hermitage Hotel

Those craving the savory taste of truffle fries or fresh smoked salmon pizza during this time of physical distancing can order from The Hermitage Hotel Jakarta in Central Jakarta. 

Available to order from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., the service features Indonesian and Western foods, including oxtail soup, soto tangkar (curried coconut beef stew with steamed rice), Hermitage club sandwiches and pecan pie with prices start from Rp 70,000.

JW Marriott Jakarta

The Sailendra and Pearl Chinese restaurants at JW Marriott Jakarta are currently offering a food delivery service as well.

Called “Delivery by JW”, the service provides six different menu items from Sailendra, which include rendang Sumatra (slow-cooked meat in coconut milk and spices), kwetiau ayam goreng (fried chicken with Chinese noodles) and mie goreng ikan bakar (fried noodles with grilled fish). Served with additional vegetables, sambal (chili) and fruits, the prices for the dishes start at Rp 98,000.  

Meanwhile, the Pearl restaurant offers a taste of modern Cantonese cuisine through the Pearl Set Lunch, which features marinated beef shank with five-spice sautéed chicken, stir-fried pork belly with deep-fried vegetable spring rolls and crispy chicken wontons with salted egg deep-fried fish fillet. The set will include additional vegetables, soup, steamed rice and fruit.

Customers can order from both restaurants from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Hotel Tugu Malang

Various culinary delights, from bread and snacks to Vietnamese and Indonesian food, are currently being provided by this East Java hotel as part of its food delivery service. The food will be prepared by the hotel's two restaurants and café, namely Melati Restaurant, SaigonSan and Und Corner.

Free delivery applies to destinations within the city of Malang.

Horison Samarinda

This East Kalimantan hotel also offers a food delivery service dubbed Paket Kita, which boasts different dishes, including monster burger and chicken katsu sandwich.

Free delivery applies to all destinations within the city of Samarinda.

Pesonna Hotel, Pekanbaru

Rice bowl menus are the highlight of this Riau hotel's food delivery service.

Customers can choose whether they want their rice bowl to be topped with fried egg, kung pao chicken (stir-fried Chinese side dish served with peanuts), chicken katsu or beef seasoned with black pepper.

Hyatt Regency Bali

The Hyatt Regency Bali offers a food delivery service from its beachfront Italian restaurant, Pizzaria. Deliveries within a reasonable distance will be made by the hotel's staff for minimum purchases of Rp 200,000.

The restaurant remains open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. for breakfast, lunch and dinner with spaced out dining tables, temperature checks and face-masked waiters.
