s the world fights the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, numerous companies have also found ways to help communities during this period of anxiety and uncertainty.

It has been weeks and we are already facing the realities of a new way of life, and perhaps, even a new economy. Ironically, as we are confined in our homes, we have become even more productive as we look for things to do to pass the time.

Without distractions from material things or unnecessary luxuries and with more time to pause and think about our priorities, we’ve found ourselves juggling tasks we never thought we would be able to accomplish altogether.

As we are finding ways to improve (and maybe even reinvent ourselves), here, we share three online education platforms that will enable you to immerse yourself in different industries and get expert advice at low or no cost. Learn to your heart’s content and gain new perspectives that just might give you the proper mindset to take on forthcoming challenges and opportunities.

MasterClass

For $180, MasterClass is offering a 50 percent discount that allows you to buy an annual membership which you can share (2 passes for $180) or you can squeeze in as many classes as you can in a month for $15.

With a wide range of categories such as Film and TV; Design, Photography, and Fashion; Culinary Arts; and Music and Entertainment, among others, you’ll get access to lessons by the likes of Anna Wintour, Dominique Ansel, Annie Leibovitz, Kelly Wearstler, and many more.

Business of Fashion (BoF)

Business of Fashion (BoF) has created self-directed education courses tailored to the specific needs of fashion professionals today.

BoF’s instructors include renowned stylist Lucinda Chambers, Farfetch brand and strategy director Susanne Tide-Frater, and respected fashion historian and journalist Colin McDowell, among others.

As a limited offer for one month, you can get full access to BoF Professional for only $1. BoF’s standard monthly subscription is $37, while its annual subscription is $24.50.

Coursera 

Online learning platform Coursera was founded in 2012 by Standford professors Andrew Ng and Daphne Koller. It offers a wide range of open online courses, specializations, and degrees.

In light of the imposed quarantine, Coursera has launched new, free resources, and showcased interesting course collections, community discussions, and expert interviews.

Courses on Coursera are taught by top instructors from world-class universities like John Hopkins, Standford, and Yale, among others, companies such as Google and Amazon, and even an institution like The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). 

Hundreds of free courses give you access to on-demand video lectures, homework exercises, and community discussion forums, while paid courses provide additional quizzes and projects as well as a shareable Course Certificate upon completion.
