mid the "new normal" period, the multi-genre Synchronize Festival is set to be held from Oct. 2 to 4 at JIExpo in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.

According to the latest announcement from event organizer Dyandra Promosindo, the annual festival will be held alongside CREATE by IFEX, the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS), Motorbike Show and Property Weekend Fiesta under its “largest collaborative project” dubbed Dyandra New Adventure (DNA).

DNA is an all-in-one event that involves various industries, such as furniture, automotive, property and music, in one venue.

The event will follow health protocols, such as by urging visitors to wear masks or face shields, applying physical distancing measures and providing hand sanitizer and hand-washing facilities. The organizer will also implement new precautions by providing crowd controllers and a minimum 3 meter gangway.

Dyandra Promosindo director Hendra Noor Saleh said such a collaborative project could be considered a solution during the new normal, as the public tended to be more selective in terms of events they wanted to attend. He hoped  the event could help promote the aforementioned industries impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Established in 2000, Synchronize Festival aims to celebrate various music genres. Initiated by independent recording label Demajors and Dyandra Promosindo, the festival has featured celebrated performers and newcomers, including singer Ebiet G. Ade, composer Erwin Gutawa and the late campur sari (a blend of traditional Javanese and modern music) maestro Didi Kempot. (wir/wng)
