T

he store of French fashion label Christian Dior at Plaza Senayan shopping mall, Central Jakarta, has temporarily closed until Tuesday following a confirmed COVID-19 case.

Since Monday, an announcement about the store's temporary closure has circulated on social media and WhatsApp groups. It stated that a COVID-19 case was confirmed on July 25 at the store and “all team members who were in contact are under quarantine" and that "immediate testing and professional sanitization are being organized”.

“Yes, we have one confirm[ed] test and we remain vigilant,” a management official of Christian Dior Couture in Indonesia told The Jakarta Post on Monday. “Our team immediately took the PCR [polymerase chain reaction] test and closed the boutique for disinfection.”

Plaza Senayan itself shared on Sunday its health and safety protocols on its social media platforms, including regular spraying of disinfectant, the use of a cashless payment system and reducing the mall's maximum capacity. "All of our tenants have implemented health and safety measures to ensure you have a safe and pleasant shopping experience at Plaza Senayan," read the post.

Following the confirmed COVID-19 case, several netizens could be found asking about the news in the comments section

"There's a confirmed COVID-19 case at a Dior [store], so was only the store closed? Is Plaza Senayan still open?" asked @melaciousintent.

Plaza Senayan released a statement on Instagram Stories on Monday afternoon following the confirmed case: "The store staff has been quarantined for the last 10 days and is being closely monitored by the store’s management. All staff of the same store who may have been in close contact are under quarantine and are being tested immediately."

It added that different staff members would run the store when it reopens after being cleaned and disinfected.

Located on the first floor of the mall, the Dior store offers ready-to-wear, leather-goods and accessories of the luxury brand.

Plaza Senayan was opened in 1996 and provides a wide array of fashion boutiques, restaurants, cafes and entertainment centers. (kes)
