JOOX's Quick Sing feature allows people to sing karaoke and interact with other users on their smartphones.
araoke is a popular way for people to unwind. It can also bring people closer, particularly after work hours or for social gatherings. Though numerous karaoke lounges are temporarily closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, interest in karaoke remains high.
From February to July, online music streaming platform JOOX recorded a 30 percent increase in the number of users of its karaoke feature in several countries, such as Indonesia, Hong Kong and Macau, Malaysia, Myanmar and Thailand.
In 2019, JOOX also saw a 533 percent exponential growth in users in the Asia-Pacific region.
“JOOX sees that the karaoke trend is getting popular among Indonesians, especially among the younger generation who want to express their hearts during this time of pandemic,” head of JOOX Indonesia Peter May said in a statement.
In response to this trend, JOOX has rolled out its Quick Sing feature where users can sing and dance to their favorite songs on their smartphones. They can also get creative by using filters, stickers, voice tuning and holding karaoke competitions. The feature also allows them to focus on their favorite part of a song without having to sing it from start to finish.
To access the feature, users can click the “SING page” option on the JOOX app then select and specify the duration they wish. Users can choose to record their performance in a video or audio format. The result can be edited later on the app. It is recommended to download the latest version of JOOX.
“Quick Sing was launched as a solution that allows users to create their moment of togetherness with family and close ones in the comfort of their homes,” said May. “Hopefully this feature can be an alternative form of entertainment that can inspire and develop Indonesians’ creativity.”
Launched in 2015, JOOX features over 30 million Indonesian and international tracks. The app is available on App Store and Play Store. (wir/wng)
