The Raisa Live in Concert initially aimed to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Raisa’s first single.
solo concert by Indonesian singer Raisa that was initially scheduled to be held on Nov. 28 at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta has been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The singer posted a video on her Instagram account on Tuesday, announcing the news and her apology.
She said that she had prepared to hold her dream concert in 2020. “But the pandemic happened."
The singer mentioned that at first she saw the pandemic as a challenge for her and her team to present their best to the audience.
However, she was also concerned about the current health situation in Indonesia and the rising number of COVID-19 cases.
She shared that she always imagined singing and meeting her fans in the stadium.
“However, our health and safety are the utmost importance today,” she added.

The Raisa Live in Concert was aimed at celebrating the 10th anniversary of Raisa’s first single, “Serba Salah”. It would also mark the first time an Indonesian female singer performed a solo concert in the stadium.
The concert was first announced in November last year, with the initial schedule of June 27. In April, it was rescheduled to Nov. 28 because of the pandemic.
Soon after the concert's announcement last year, 10,000 tickets sold out within 14 hours. Tickets for several categories, such as Festival A and B, sold out within two hours.
Kompas.com reports that the representative of promoter Juni Concert, Adryanto Pratono, said in a virtual press conference that it had planned to hold a concert adapting to the current situation. It came up with two options, a physically distanced concert or a drive-in concert.
However, Raisa rejected the idea as she wanted to give her best performance for the show.
She said that canceling the concert was the best step to be taken during the pandemic.
Ticket holders can get a full refund. More information is available on the promoter's Instagram or at raisa2020.id. (jes/wng)
